What does an EPC show?
An Energy Performance Certificate gives a property an energy-efficiency rating from A to G and includes recommendations that may improve its performance.
How long does an EPC last?
An EPC is normally valid for 10 years. You can check whether a property already has a valid certificate on the official government register.
What happens during an assessment?
The assessor records features such as the property type, construction, heating, insulation, windows and lighting. The visit is visual and does not involve destructive testing.
